As the United States prepares for the upcoming presidential election, the employees at the CEU Library would like to remind students, faculty and staff that we have a relevant and a varied selection of hardcopy, electronic and audio books on the American political process. We also have several books on the major presidential candidates.

Hardcopy books for checkout on Senator John McCain include titles such as: Faith of My Fathers by John McCain with Mark Salter, John McCain the Myth of a Maverick by Matt Welch. Hardcopy books for checkout on Senator Barack Obama include: Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance by Barack Obama, Barack Obama in His Own Words edited by Lisa Rogak, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality by Jerome R. Corsi.

The CEU Library also has several audio books on CD on several presidents and political eras in the history of the United States. Some of these titles include: Truman by David McCullough, John Adams by David McCullough, One Man Great Enough: Abraham Lincoln's Road to the Civil War by John C. Waugh, Benjamin Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson and Presidential Courage: Brave leaders and How they Changed America from 1789-1989 by Michael Beschloss.

The CEU Library provides access to thousands of scholarly and popular articles through the on-line databases available in Academic Pioneer. A direct link to Academic Pioneer is located at the library homepage at: http://www.ceu.edu/library/. Many great articles from various historical journals and news magazines and newspapers may be freely accessed using Academic Pioneer. Most of these articles are accessible from off campus with the correct user name and password.

Please drop by the CEU Library before the 2008 Presidential election and visit our display of presidential books as well as many of the thousands of other materials available at the CEU Library.
