Battle of the bands

When I say battle, I’m not referring to a regular Saturday night at one of the local bars. I’m talking about a collection of talented, up-and-coming bands that had to fight for their right to compete at College of Eastern Utah’s most popular concert of the year.
A CEU tradition, the “Battle of the Bands” is an old school showdown of local artists that has become so popular that bands from all over Utah will come to battle it out for the crown.

A CEU tradition, the “Battle of the Bands” is an old school showdown of local artists that has become so popular that bands from all over Utah will come to battle it out for the crown.
Last year’s winners “Last Man Standing” have changed things up a bit since the 2007 battle, the band is now known as “Mindsplice” with lead singer Jay Jensen along with other members of the original ensemble. Only time will tell whether or not this new mix will have what it takes to keep the crown.
The rest of the lineup includes; [Price bands] “Au Revoir,” “Empty Expectations,” “King of Aces,” “Mad Love Spell,” “Snap Whistle Scream,” “Todays Tomorrow,” “Wittikism,” [Salt Lake City bands] “Formerly So” and “Outlet.”
This concert is sure to rock so make it a point to be there and support your local music scene.
The doors open at 7:30 pm this Saturday at the BDAC and the cover is $5.00. The concert is being put on by 107.9 The Edge.
