Art show winners

A photograph titled “Buckets and Cans” by Quaid Peterson won the College of Eastern Utah’s Sixth Annual High School Fin Art Competition. He is from Logan High School.
A tie for first place was awarded to Logan High School student’s Katlin Searles for her photograph titled “Africa 2” and Katherine Hetzel for her ceramic sculpture titled “Three Evils.”
The fourth winner from Logan High School won second place overall. Isaac Turley’s slab pot titled “Square Vase” took home the honor.
Weber High School’s Candace Oman won third place for her brass ring design titled “Safari Wind.”

Honorable mentions went to Pleasant Grove High School’s Zachary Harris for his charcoal drawing titled “Self Portrait” and Nathan Laudie for his mixed media painting titled “Jif.” Lucas Haroldson from Wasatch Academy received an honorable mention for his paper collage titled “Self Portrait” and Austin Allen from Logan High School for his photograph titled “Wheel.”
All of the student’s work is displayed in Gallery East open Monday through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. The exhibit features two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork from high school students from throughout Utah throughout January.
