Another student fell victim to the ills of alcohol on April 1, when an individual was observed intoxicated on the USU Eastern campus.

At 11:45 p.m. students in Aaron Jones Residential Hall observed a fellow student who reeked of alcohol. These students reported to campus authorities who removed the intoxicated resident from the residential hall.

This matter was handled judicially and without the intoxicated individual being booked into the county jail.

The USU Eastern Alcohol and Drug Policy states, “Within the context of educational tradition, the intent of the institution is to encourage informed choices about the exercise of personal responsibility in making those choices. Therefore, College of Eastern Utah specifically prohibits the use, unlawful possession, manufacture or distribution of alcoholic beverages and other drugs.”

Members of the campus community are invited to report incidences of drunkenness and intoxicated behavior to the campus police at (435)613-5612 or to the residential life authorities, if it occurs in the housing facilities.
